What is your experience of perimenopause?
It breaks my heart to see so many women struggling with their health and hormone balance.
Did you know that 70% of women will suffer debilitating symptoms in the perimenopause?
Here are some of the symptoms my clients describe:
“Bouts of uncontrollable rage, severe mood swings and fatigue – Compacted by the fact my GP said it’s not worth prescribing me with HRT because you can’t get it anyway.”
“I’m aged 43 and regular periods but loads of symptoms, anxiety (before all this crapolla), weight gain, brain fog, forgetting appointments, irritability, insomnia…”
“I literally turn into a different person and can’t explain how little control I have over it. It’s really not pleasant.”
“Perimenopause. Constant heavy bleeding. It just goes on and on for about two and a half weeks, stops then a couple of weeks later starts again. This followed a period when I had nothing for about 5 months. It’s very unpredictable.”
“My biggest issues are I’m really tired or can’t sleep at all. Irritable for no reason. Hot flashes out of nowhere. Getting those small annoying headaches.”
The experiences are distressing to hear. And because there are many hormone imbalances that go into creating these symptoms, the answers are not simple. The solutions are not to be found overnight. In short, there is NO quick fix.
My own dance with hormones is complex, too!
I had adrenal burnout in 2004, at the age of 37 – I didn’t know it, as this is not recognized in allopathic medicine.
But it led me down the path of discovering answers to my own health – energy healing, meditation, supplementation, and finally training in functional and integrative medicine – looking for the root cause of these issues.

Then in 2016, at the age of 48, I developed autoimmune hypothyroidism – Hashimoto’s – and was wondering why I was again slowing down.
And this year I developed insulin resistance with weight gain (thanks to genetics + lockdown…).
All of these occurred in my perimenopause – when, for many of us, our hormones start to play havoc.
Look at the evidence!
When men are aged 45-55 they are often at the peak of their career, full speed ahead, with no loss of the drive that keeps them going.
The fact that this happens to us women at an age when we feel we should be succeeding can be soul-destroying.
